NICE OLD BIKE PIC

Postby DAVID THOMPSON » Fri Dec 29, 2006 10:24 pm

picture of nice old bike

got to ride one like it about 1959 a fellow we called the "OLD TIMER "
rode it ..i helped him put a generator and lights on it so he could
keep riding it and he let me take it for a spin

last time i saw him riding it was about 1980
man it was sweet but if some thing broke it was hell to find the part

look it over it is a well designed bike and with a 300cc 4cycle motor
and 4 speed tansmisson would make a sweet run about even today

ar dave

ps
The 2 1/2-horsepower, 1-cylinder, 2-cycle, air-cooled engine has a 2 1/4-inch bore and a 2 3/4-inch stroke,
providing a total piston displacement of 13 1/2 cubic inches.
about 180 cc
this was a very slow running motor 3500 rpm would have been high rpm
even in a race bike as it was an other 40 years before they really got the
2 smokers to rev up and put out horse power
