mz 250 rebuild dvd

Postby bullgoose » Tue Mar 05, 2013 12:57 pm

Hi Ho Folks.
First post here as i have just joind the forum after buying two ts model`s, one ts 150 about 1980 and a 1977 ts 250.
I have gotten off two flying start as these bikes are wonderfully easy to work on and i have all the major parts for the bikes.
The 150 is almost finished exsept for torn up bearing housings in the rear hub. These rear hubs seem to be made of that precious metal UNOBTAINIUM as i cant find any new one`s or even 2nd hand hubs or wheels so it going to be an engineering job.
I have been watching the MZ 250 engine strip and rebuild video`s on youtuber but they run out at n o6 on the site i used.
Can anyone tell me if the whole dvd is available for sale in the UK as it`s a god send for anyone building these engines and as don`t know if any engine work needs to be done inside the crankcasesgoose i realy need this dvd.
Cheers

Ive never come across a DVD of the videos. Which ones have you found online? I know of the ETZ 250 set, which is a dubbed version of the factory video. Is it a TS250, or a TS250/1? If it's the 4 speed TS250,the gearbox is different to the one in the ETZ videos.

As for rear hubs, we probably weighed in a couple of dozen for scrap a few years back while clearing a friends garage. But that's the UK for you!. I'll look in my spares stash tomorrow and if I can find one I'll happily send it to you for the price of postage

Keep coming back on here for advice, there are quite a few people 2 stroke addicts on here
ES250 Doppelport, ES250, ES250/1, ES250/2,ETS 250, ES150, ETS150, BK350, IWL Pitty, SR56 Wiesel, SR59 Berlin, Troll............ and thats just the German two strokes!

Hi Therealche
Thanks for your reply and may i say it`s very generous offer i`d like to take. I live in newcastle upon tyne in the north of england, are you very far away?.
The bike is a TS 250 with no gear lever on at the moment so i don`t know if it`s 4/5 speed, the year it was first registered was 1979 if that helps.
I managed to find 6 video clips in correct order but the numbers after that seem to mean nothing and show a mix of the first 6 making it a nonsense.
Thanks again
Bullgoose.

I'm in Bradford, well my spares stash is anyway ( I'm currently living in Barnsley) Did'nt manage to get back home today but will definately be across next week.I bought an ETS150 a while ago and while collecting spares bought a pair of NOS wheels from Burwins so I'm sure there should be a pair of old wheels somewhere!

Would think it's a TS250/1 5 speed from 1979 , the TS250 has a cylinder head with vertical fins,

and the TS250/1 has horizontal fins so it blends in with the barrel

Looks like i have a 250/1 with horozontal fins from 1979 so thanks for yor help in indenifying the bike. Which burwin shop did you buy the wheels from as there seems to be a couple and i dont know which one deals with the older models.
Look forward to hearinf from you about the rear hub.

The website is rubbish but they have a lot of stuff. Can be helpful if you catch them on the right day... or ( in my experience) bloody obstructive if its not!

Have a lot of stuff, not all on their site

And always worth a look at

Quite a few bits are considerably cheaper than in the UK, postage is set at €11 and they take paypal!

Yes Ive used him before. Unfortunately as far as I know he only accepts money by bank transfer and although this is the norm in Germany, the thieving barstewards that run the banks in the UK make this very expensive for us. Shame seeing we are all meant to be part of the EU but the banks screw you every way they can, I mean how else will the afford to pay themselves obscene bonuses!

Gunter six accepts PayPal.
A big plus is his background knowledge of the machines.

I accept paypal, but as they charge me 4 % fee, I have to add these 4% to the total.
But these 4% are less than paying with bank transfer from GB or USA...

Always worth checking out http://auctionchex.com/ for transfering money. I have used him many times and his fees are very competitive

I have used https://transferwise.com/ when buying parts from eBay Germany and found both the service and rates very good.

Wotcha.

I seem to recall putting these video files on the Moonshiner's site some time back.

<< goes off to look >>

Ah - here we go.

Also, just for good measure . . .

The ETZ workshop manual

And a copy of the 1976 Zeus book.

I have tried all sorts of ways of download the videos to no avail, but I found these a couple of years ago, and they are still live. I just wish it was that easy.
