Hey Dave,
Have discovered this addictive hobby too...every weekend ...have built some planes P51,Corsair,Spitfire, F22, Eurofighter etc..
Think flite test is fabulous...check out the "breakfast Bombers" on utube from Flite Test..
They use Adams foam board from Dollar Tree...not coroplast to my knowledge

some use both adams and coroplast and i am on a learning curve

used to do free flight way before they sorted out the radio stuff

most of what i flew had a broadcast band crystal osc to hunt for them when they came down

I haven't started back in RC since I lost all my equipment in the 2010 flood.
I had narrowed it down to 2 meter electric sailplanes and electric helis. Had a couple of older 72mhz radios (One was a Profi3030...very nice).
I do miss that sailplane, but don't have much time to fly due to working "normal" bidness hours... :P
2.4ghz and a 350 size chopper would be nice. I have room in the backyard for that.

Enjoy Dave.

bill look at the flitetest.c o m stuff
simple to build and cheap

the price of some helios brings tears to my eyes
as do the radios to fly them with the needed margin for safety
good radio is a must have..

speaking of good radios i am looking at one of these
any of you guys happen to own one its made in Italy
ELAD FM DUO HF SDR 160 to 6 meters QRP transceiver
