wtb: Shift Lever for '01 Skorpion Sport Cup

Postby FALAKAR » Sat Oct 05, 2013 9:46 am

Howdy! I just low sided my ol' skorp last night and busted the shift lever so i thought id check and see if any fellow mzriders here in the states have one for sale. Also if you know of other shift levers that can interchange i would appreciate that information as well. Thanks for your time.

Sorry for your luck! Did the same thing due to a fork travel locking pulling out of a drive way.....(the bike had been raced and the fork travel was limited by add on steering stops)
Anyway,I had it rewelded for awhile..then I changed it to an XT500 style which is very direct with no link
ge...I got an aluminum one for a scooter with 11mm
splines...keep in mind if ya go this route through bolt the lever to the mount and use locktight! The lever is adjustable for reach.
do a search for levers on here first....good luck

Thanks for the tips. I have been looking around now and do like the idea of the xt500 shift lever being directly mounted for a better shifting feel but am not so sure i want to switch to a gp style shifting pattern (i fear change haha). Is the aluminum scooter shifter your referring to the xt500 style that mounts directly or is it a different one?

Thanks! I had searched on there but didnt run across that one it looks like it just ended but i messaged the seller and asked if they are willing to ship to the U.S. Thats a good price on the lever and it wouldnt hurt to have the extra bits but hopefully shipping wont be insane. I guess im going to continue researching this, thanks again guys!

Den, I really appreciate you offering to go out of your way to help me however i also contacted the seller and they said they would be willing to ship to the states and would let me know the price tomorrow. The deal is not set in stone if shipping isnt too high ill pick it up but in the mean time am still looking for one. Again thank you for offering to help out!

The shifter I'm talking about for the scooter is direct mount...its cheap Chinese but light weight...dont worry about GP shift pattern...amazing how easy it is to get used to....

GP shifting is easy to get used to ? I had wondered....

The stock Linkage gets plenty sloppy as the Alu wears on the footpeg.
I have welded several broken shift levers.....so it's no big deal to repair them.

and i only road 2 years out of about 60 on one with as we say backward shifting english style not gp
