Mz 500 silver star classic

Postby Kevinr1 » Sat Dec 19, 2020 4:10 pm

Hello,

I just pick up a 1993 silver star. Sadly I do not know much about these bikes. Any thoughts on value and if parts are available.

Any info would be great. I am cleaning carb to see if she will run.

Thanks

Hello.

Parts supply is not very good, especially for the special silver star parts like fuel tank, seat etc.

The number of produced bikes is very< low compared to the 2 stroke bikes.
The silver star was produced only 900 times...

The 2 stroke ES 150 was produced 900 000 times

So there was never a big stock in these spare parts.

Thanks for the info. I will probably end up selling at some point. Bike is overall very clean I’d say.

Trying to get air filter cover off now...

Appreciate the help.

on the air filter removal look at parts book for chassis at muz,de its behind the battery
and use cell phone camera to remember where things go
and the only air filter i can find in USA is the one for the BMW chopper montack i this called
bike was in bond movie

and look here for how to make an adapter for filter from bottom of a Crisco or Peanut can

Nice bike. Were you able to get it running again?
