Hi there
I must be doing something wrong.
New member about a month, not a great poster
I have a MZ ES 250/2
Not many in Australia, so I am after a bit of info
First what makes a "de luxe" a "de luxe"?
Can you get the compliance plate refurbished?
Mine was a registered UK bike FKE 70L, any body know of this bike?
Engine No 4706793
Frame No 1393888
Compliance plate puts it as 1971

Nice to see a Trophy on the other side of the world.

You know, Ive never thought about the de-luxe bit in all the years Ive been MZing . At a guess the "standard" had single saddles and shocks without chrome covers but it's just a guess

You can buy a new blank typehschild ( congratulations you know know the German for compliance plate!) Guesi ( http://www.mzsimson.de ) who is on this forum sells them for €8..... that's around 12 of your finest Australian dollars... he also has the rivets to fit them. If i remember rightly they use 4mm stamps so you need to beg, steal borrow or even buy a set of number punches.

The bike was registered between 1 August 1972 and 31 July in 1973 in Maidstone in Kent. I'll stick the reg on a couple of MZ groups I know see if anyone remembers it.

There's a wealth of experience here so don't be afraid to ask for any help.

There is really good spares availabilty for MZs these days although unfortunately for you it's rather a long way away from you. One thing I have noticed is that your bike looks to have a seat from a TS250 on it. Don't know of these being available new but they do turn up second hand now and again

Love the bike , but why dry the sheets on the fence, The rotary dryer is a fine Australian invention get the missus one.Good luck with the bike I love mine and use it more than the other 4 bikes in my shed......Vic

Its good to see prices have remained stable I paid £200 for my ETZ251.............

i can see a project in the works turn it with a motor for days with no wind
turn slow so you do not throw off in the yard

Thanks for the info that brochure is great, by the way what is the coupling
I hung that sheet using some speed clamps and should have faced the pointy end on the other side of fence

The mean the clutch side cover.... German for clutch is Kupplung. which they translated to coupling!
