Postby reg » Thu Nov 24, 2016 6:11 am

Hey all
New to the forum, Long story about how I have 2 MZ ts250 suoa 5's in my shed, Bits missing from both. But have everything to make one good one, I hope.
I have the 6v dynamo with machnical regulator, and a not so good 6volt battery, wiring lumb is removed.
Would anybody have a diagram for ignition and charge system only. Once I haVE THE ENGINE RUNNING and charging, then I ll look into switches and lights... one step at a time SJ.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ta

Not got just the charging circuit but here is a link to the works wiring diagram ( click on it to enlarge). Worth getting one printed out A3 size and laminated.

Oh and welcome to the forum. In my opinion the Supa5 is the best engine MZ built. In fact the only thing that let the bike down was the front brake but this can be improved

I have a nice powercoated TS frame looking at me in the shed over the weekend,
Now I have a list of todo's, and its a bit long.
Engine rebuild, new power dynamo 12v convert( unless people think 6v system will get me around Europe ( without problems), new exhaust , respook and rim for front wheel with 2 shoe brake system, blah blah etc.....I am thinking under ( not much) 1k euro should get this supa5 looking good and ready for a challange..
This year I did a Galway to Gozo (malta) trip 7500Km, 8 ferries, 2 channel tunnels, ( see Galway to gozo) on youtube for some phone photos...BTW that was on a k11rs ( slightly different animal)

So question, I am drinking too much beer and dreaming?? would you think this bike could get me from Ireland to south of spain and back ?? Next years plan:) , Also aside, I'd like to GS( trail) it up a bit aswell.

Also, it must be a pain to change out the bottom end bearing on crank, that might have to be a burwin job..

Anyway, its Monday. time to earn a bit. any feedback would be appreciated..

Hi Reg,
Welcome, I have just finished a refurb on my supa 5, great bike. I sourced most if not all parts from Ebay from Germany, Hungary, Miami and UK of course. If you need any help, just yell, but for a start ' MZ Main Index - sweller'. might be a help. Anyway Reg wish you well take care Alan

Took my Supa 5 from England through Holland, Germany, Poland, Czechslovakia ( as it was then), Austria to Bolzano in Italy, then all the way back. 6V electrics, everything standard and the only problem I had was caused by me overtightening the chain but it got me home no problems.

Then again I chose a Citroen 2CV to drive to Mongolia.... and got there with no problems ( well apart from crashing the bloody thing and spending 24 hours getting it rebuilt in a Russian bodyshop!)
