Newbie to the Community

Postby Grumbly Bearing » Sun Dec 16, 2018 7:04 am

Hi, just got my hands on a 1998 Skorpion Traveller. Non-runner but mostly complete having been stood in a leaky metal shed for the last 14 years or so. Lots of furry stuff on the engine and mostly surface rust elsewhere.

More used to restoring late 60s/early 70s Suzuki two strokes but have started to expand my horizons. Last project was a 1968 Triumph Daytona.

Looking forward to getting help and advice from the Community as the project progresses :D

do not remove the bolts from the gas tank at the rear bracket, remove the tank and bracket as a unit

its a bit hard to do but striping out the bolts in the plastic tank will make you cry
tank on some bikes can be hard to remove and replace
on most the fuel shut off valve needs removed as it hits stuff
should be drained first out side as it does not all drain from tank so makes a big mess

and be careful or you will have a shed full of these things

and welcome to the zoo
