Goodbye

Well it's time to say goodbye as I've recentley sold the SF. So many thanks to all on here for the help and advice given of the the last year it's beem much apreciated.

Before I go I have a few MZ related bits and pieces for sale and thought I would offer them to you guys before putting them on good old evil bay, so here goes.

Wilbers upgraded fork spring kit/oil (unused) - £65

Fuel stainless cans and custom link pipes. The cans are road legal with removable baffles, are very well made, look good and sound great. They also come with a second set of link pipes for the Aprilia RSV, as they were originaly designed for it. - £200

Tuneboy cable and software - £90 (will need another license at £90 if you want to remap, but can be used for diagnostics as is)

Clutch cover gasket - £7

Set of new 1000S clutch springs - £8

I've attached a few pics of my old bike wearing the cans for anyone interested.

i can say that i got 3 of them now
the rt125 is a bit slow but at speeds up to 55/60 mph it is sweet
do not test ride one unless you have extra room in the shed

Well I have to admit I'll miss the MZ in many ways and if they were still in business I might even have bought an ST for a bit of touring. The sound track with the aftermarket cans and open airbox was fantastic but unfortunately I never got round to recording the sound track.

Just for the record the cans have already gone too daytona over in the Isle of Man, the rest of the bits are still available until the end of the week and then its e-bay for them as I need the space.

SEE you ian ,hope you like the new bike and dont regret selling the sf ,sorry i couldnt buy the bits of you,but cash is a bit tight atm,had to buy some camping gear for a rally,just add i have got a set of link pipes of ian and there a great fit and good quality ,mated them up to a pair of carbon micron competition pipes ,bike goes like s..t of a shovel and sounds like nothing else,also about 12kg lighter ,i would dffo recommend them ,

Dam,you move on and I come aboard with the SF.In your year of ownership overall what are/where your thoughts and what did you get for a replacement bike ?

We went across the USA 2,500 miles and turned it into a comfortable touring machine for over a week.Laptop and all.

No worries Ged, I'll get rid of them one way or the other. Glad you got the pipes sorted out, it was the best mod I made to the SF in the time I had it.

iceman, I'm sure you'll enjoy your new toy I know I did. I had the SF about 14 months and covered a good few thousand miles and to be honest I had very few problems with it. I had to adjust the angle of the hugger as it was to close too the tyre, enlarge the drain holes for the filler cap, replace one coil ,clean out the starter button as the contacts had corroded and a dodgy solenoid connection, so all minor stuff really. The other side of the coin was a bike loaded with character, that handled really well (often at daft speeds) , was very reliable, simple and easy to service. Although you could see where the company had a limited budget when developing the bike compared to the big boys the build quality of most of the components was top notch and far better than most of the Jap offerings. So yes I'll miss the SF as it was the most enjoyable bike I've had so far and god knows there have been a lot.

I bought this on a whim because I liked the way it looked mainly. Looks much better without the top box but I went touring in France the week after I got it so luggage was a must.

Don’t usually buy them on impulse and although it's a great bike to ride - smooth, comfy, reliable, fast (but not as quick as the modded SF) the finish is crap and it's a wee bit dull compared to the MZ.

Anyway that’s my thought on the MZ for now but if you have any other questions let me know.

p.s seen a blue 4 door volkswagen passat police training car just outside ullapool , just before elphin . Got the impression they might have been testing those nasty litle death ray thingmymajigs (good old scottish word)

Eh yes it is a Honda badge you see tomtom but would you mind keeping yer voice down, it feels like having a dirty secret around here Knew you could'nt resist taking the p*ss and I've had all the ribbing about 'you meet the nicest people on a Honda' - remember the old adds? Does sound a bit like a washing machine at the moment but no real complaints other than that.

Anyways you lot thats all of the bits and bobs I had advertised sold now, so thanks to you all. If you dont mind a Honda owner hanging about I might pop in from time to time to see how your gettng on.
