I think you will find that a lot of MZ colours correspond to ones in the VW/Audi range. I have not looked but the colour code should be stamped on the frame somewhere.

i tried the paint code under the seat ages ago and the paint i got mixed was nothing like it. I'll have a look at the vw range of paints

When I bought my machine the factory gave me the option of around 30 different colour combinations. My own machine is in Ocean Blue with non-standard silver wheels. (Factory standard option was black). Just recieved an unexpected (but welcome) visit from johnny 2 tents!

Back in Galway now after visit to Grahams (Ian) for parts and to Boilermakers for welcome intro, chat and tea!
Am still seeking paint code for ST blue (so is Ian, and I have a fairing panel on back order) which rumour has it is a VW/Audi colour. (I have seen a couple of blue 03/04 VW Passats that look right)
There is however a bit of info on paint codes/manufacturers on MZ Faber site under the section MZ - Originalfarben and I have kept Ian in the loop. Cheers J2T

Current lacquer finish company for MZ in 2009

1. Dispatch of Farbtöpfen
This possibility is void, since the Lackierer does not wish a hazardous materials dispatch.

2. Repair of customer parts
The Lackierer agrees that the customers send their damaged parts to it and it provides individual offers on basis of the damage.
The customer it is open then to decide whether you the repair wishes or not.
If a repair is not possible, painted parts over MZ must be ordered.

With the MZ-Motorradfarben it does not act in most cases not around conventional autolacquers but around special lacquers out of the industry, out of this reason cannot the indicated lacquers with the body painter be mixed the lacquer finish workshops the mixture code in the autolacquer program to have there.

It gives 2 pcs. to companies these colors for MZ painted, but only this company knows also lacquers in 1 kg. Doses supply!

Please consider these colors only in the 1 kg of bundles (tin cans) to be supplied.
Since this supply is indicated as “hazardous materials” in the dispatch, also high transport costs must be taken by 40, - € plus VAT pluses lacquer costs in purchase.
