1000S sPITS FUEL ON THE FLOOR

very very strange things are happening in my garage. The bike pisses gas!!! I have not rode it since September. it has since pissed 3 small puddles on the floor. Thats right I have come home to my house smelling like gas and when i go to the garage there is a 2 inch puddle of gas under the bike each time. Is it doing this to spite me for not riding it or is it a design feature that expels bad gas???? I'm totally confused

Mine has done this a few times here and there from new and recently at 38,000+ miles (similar to what you might call "penis dribble" from the vent tubes hanging down under the bike) Either from hot-cold-hot-cold temps causing some phenomena and/or a full tank of gas. No biggie for me, maybe it's the little shiney aluminum Acerbis vent tube thingy under the tank in line with the vent tubes that needs cleaning/replaced or?? Could be she's telling you to ride her HARD!!

the worst thing you can do is let a bike set in the shed and not ride it
my saxon tour is in need of some road time and was hard to start the other day
have been letting it set because its too much money to keep 3 bikes on the road
but do not want to see it gone

I know Dave just wish I could ride it I herniated a disk in my neck in June and I rode it once my left arm went numb and I suffered for it for a few days. I need an operation either a fusion or disk replacement. doc says it doesn't get better. I will siphon the gas out and let it run.

It's just strange what it does and there isn't a rotted hose

Sorry to hear about your neck....The BP has a more upright riding position.

As off last week my bike did this again. Close to a full tank of fuel, in the shed, temps here have been hot cold hot cold. Had stench of raw fuel, floor was damp from fuel overflow at the vent tubes, and when I opened the fuel cap a little gas spewed out as pressure was relieved when unlatched. Annoying......

Sorry to hear about your neck problem. As for the fuel problem we never suffer from it in this country as the climate is either cold or colder so gas expansion is never a problem, added to this is the fact that we can never afford to fill the tank completely.

It sounds to me as if your fuel tank vent is blocked, used to happen a lot in the old days when the vent was external and just filled up with wax polish. I a not sure where the vent is in the fuel cap but I am sure that if you unblock it the problem will go away.
