Thanks for the info. Kinda what I figured.
I'm very happy with my Traveller, thank goodness.
An ST would've been nice, though.

John
Thanks for the link. Interesting to note that the MZ man stated only 1050 1000s st sf machines constructed and that they can build to order. And its somehow comforting to know that as an owner you are in such esteemed company as Jay Leno.

Hi To All,

Not sure how how many ST's were imported to the States but, what I can say is the/my 1000s is one of the best constructed new bikes I have ever purchased. Three new MZ's. Two Scorpions and the S. All as expected and exellent quality. Enter: my new when purchased Moto Guzzi x 2, BMW x 2 and Bimota (new and expensive) form an ordely que outside the dealers for umpteen rectifications!!! Funny thing, none at all with the MZ's. My 1000s was as far as I know the last one registered in the UK. August 2008. Unless anyone knows different? Brilliant bikes. Dont pay any attention to the "My Mate said": Bollocks.

Kind Regards,

Gary.

Gary
You beat me by just over a year, May 07. I have been in contact with the Factory, the importes and the DVLA and it seems ther are only around 8 SF's, 17 S's and 6 ST's in the country. MZ only produced 1566 1000's in total so if you have a nice one keep it. I have an orange SF which I use on a regular basis but try to keep clean.

Mr Thompson
I think it might be a Manx (Isle of Man) plate.

It is a Manx plate but the bike spends a month or two each summer in the Indre et Loire departement in France (where the picture was taken).

It might go and live there permanently with Mrs Sam's Skorpion now I have the Certificat de Conformité from the factory (free of charge in case anyone else needs one). Bizarrely, Grahams asked the factory for a CoC for the Skorpion (year 2000 bought in Dublin) but they refused directing us to the french importer. They charged some extortionate rate something like 200€ for this bit of paper but the Skorpion was then registered in France without any problems.
