HELP MZ 1000

Postby iceman » Tue Oct 29, 2013 8:13 am

I have a friend that needs the following parts to get back on the road. His starter has issues. MZ 1000

Parts needed:

901715 0000 Starter assembly
3543540 005 stepwheel (starter drive)
3545302 000 alternator cover gasket

He sent a message to the UK shop Grams but they are trying to get in touch with the MZ parts people and have not had any luck yet.

Any idea if this starter might come from another source, I'm thinking MZ sourced the starter from someone else...any thoughts?

Mitsuba starters were put in 1000's of jap bikes ... what is the make on it - Mitutoyo is another I think I have seen on starters.\
Take the bugger to a junkyard and match em up.
Cool.

Have a trawl through the site, I am sure I saw a post a while back about a Kawasaki 1000 starter fitting.

Hi..

Still no reply from MZ. I'm guessing that due to the new company re-locating they haven't had time to check emails yet. I'm just waiting for them to contact me about contact numbers and details. It's hard work believe me. But once they are up and running things should be a lot smoother. Sorry for the delay..

Regards

Ian

I am sure there is an alternative starter motor out there for these machines. the only thing that would concern me would be the gear ratio.

The last Email I received he was going to send it to these people http://ricksmotorsportelectrics.com/

I suggested they may be able to rebuild it.
