Power Commander

Hi,

Considering fitting a Power Commander to my 1000s not for increased power but to smooth out the power delivery especially the slight surging at 20-40 mph range. Bike is currently stock (except sprocket mod). However, my question to the forum and especially to members who have already fitted a Power Commander is there a marked improvement and did you fit the O2 eliminator?
Further to the above I did once fit a Power Commander to my Bimota SB8 with excellent results. Maybe this answers my question, but at least it may get the forum for the 1000's a little more active.

Regards,

Gary.

Not heard of anyone fitting a Power commander but there are at least five different fuel maps for the 1000 engine available on the Tuneboy system. My own machine is a 1000st and its fuel map is slightly softer than a stock 1000s

Did you ever fit the Power Commander? Curious if you feel it is worth the cost?

Hi AJ and all,

Due to being busy preparing our house for sale and approx 80% completion of a cosmetic rebuild of my BMW k1 I have not got around to fitting a Power Commander to the MZ. Since Boilermaker mentions the Tuneboy I have looked at their website and am quite impressed. Does anyone out there have experience of using this system? At $500.00 it appears a little more expensive than a Power Commander. On German e-bay these retail at around 230 euros.

Regards,

Gary.
