Hallo . well i wanna tell my story from yestarday , its fun to ride that 1000s when is working . but when it will give you problems on the road its no fun at all . having read some stories yoiu guys post here i was just about to have heart attack when my MZ shuts down on me in the middle of nowhere . to make story short . i was just on the way home coming back from joy ride when just after takeof from the red light i open the trottle shift to second than third and than my bike died on me . i was suprised and angry since they want 250 just to tow the bike maybe 10 miles . i got my friend have help me and pick me up couple oh H latter . when i got home i start reading the post here regarding fuel pump ( since i new that im not getting any fuel to the injectors . having read some posts i got in to conclusion that it cud be fuse relay fuel pump and worst the ECU it self . you can imagine my feeling when i realised thay if its aECU im in trouble . i was pannicking !!!!!!!!!!!!!! . today i got in to a garage and start troubleshut the problem . first i turn the ignition on and listen for the fuel pump to prime the system ( it did i culd hear the pump running ) second i took of one of the houses from the injectors turn the ignition on and there was no fuel prasure . very strange , i was thinking that my pump somehow got pluged up . i took some carburato cleaner and speray it in to the intake and the engine started . next thing wast to take out the fuel pump and have it vissually inspected . BINGO !!!!!! little house inside of the tank was disconeccted from the fuel outlet . so if anybody encounter those symptoms dont pannic take the fuel pump out and see if that damn ting is connected to the outlet . i assume that it slip out from the vibrations of the engine >

Thanks for the information, I have switched to ethanol free fuel so I hope this does not happen to me but if it does I have a head start on fixing it, thanks.

Mr Thompson is correct in his dislike of in tank pumps. From an Engineering/safety viewpoint they are Bloody suicidal. Ethanol is the real problem here and God knows how many other problems this chemical must be causing every day.

I know I'm late to jump in on this one, but I had the exact same issue with my 2007 Moto Guzzi Griso. Guzzi actually issued a recall and replaced the entire fuel pump on early bikes. Since I live 200 miles from the nearest dealer, I fixed it myself with submersible fuel line from NAPA Auto. The "local" dealer shipped me a replacement pump. Now I have a brand new fuel pump in a box collecting dust. It has been 6 years and 15k miles the line is holding strong. :-D

*Yet I still know people who claim ethanol fuel has no ill effects.

Triumph is one of them, I wrote asking for some advice on my speed triple and was told that there is no evidence that ethanol has any effect on plastic fuel tanks. :?:
