If Grahams don't have it you might struggle, from what I can see its called a vibration damper and the part number is 3543540005. Do you have a spare parts fiche for the MZ?

spare list
some times they call things a balance but in english where i live its called a slip clutch

looks like its Gaulded inside and did not slip when it should have if it has a fine nut and a cupped belleville washer
its a slip
the unit on the rt125 bikes does this and helps blow up the starter sprag clutch= $$$

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belleville_washer

its supposed to slip in both directions a bit when it does not slip things break

Halo . I have no idea for now what culd be a problem , i just know that since i got the bike it was making noise when you try to start the engine , sometimes would start without that noise , but most times there was a noise . Ibwas thinking that the battery i have in the bike is not strong enough to turn the engine , bike have 195 miles when i got it so i did not susspect anything wrong with it . Since i have other MZ that i ride , this one is just standing in the corner pf the garage and i start it to warrm it up on ocasion . Yesterday i was trying to wash it , i start the engine ( with the noise ) warm it up , shut down , wait fot the bike to cool down while i wash the other . Than i try to pull up to mu washing place . And this time i have rattling noise but no start . Called Graham in UK , they know the problem , just send one of those parts to Australia not long ago . Price is comparable with Aprilia sprung clutch so i dont think is that bad . MJ 310 thanks for the part number , i got some suspicions what was the problem but need to wait for the part and than i will investigate more , i will keep you guys posted , thanks !

You'll need to remove the missing teeth from the engine and oil system, drain the oil and change the filter before you restart the engine. It also might be worth glueing a magnet into the bottom of the casing to attract any shrapnel still in there and recheck after a few hundred miles

Hello everyone.

These problem is well known and there is a thread in our German forum :http://mz1000.motomonster.de/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=443

Just in moment, a friend has the same problem with his 1000S. There are a few specialists in Germany.

Check out http://www.skbikes.de/ and http://www.mz-faber.de/. These are the best and the repair is not a problem. I gues spare parts can be shipped to ... (where am I ? US/UK)

Kind regards

Hi . The part have arrived on monday . I have put everything together , and engine starts with one touch of starter button right now ! Wow . I cant find anything that would cost the damage , i check the selenoid , and the baterry was disconected for 3 weeks and no problems there , so i assume that since i have the noise when i try to start the bike almost every time since i got it with 195 miles on the clock , i assume i must have buy the bike with that damage ! I wanna thanks everybody for help getting that part and part number , thanks .
