What are people using to access the error codes, is there something I can download to PC?

MJ , the plug for the scanner is located under the driver seat , i was lucky to get the original MZ scanner when i both my silver 1000s , its a regular OBD 2 plug , idk if any car OBD scanner will read the codes i never try , i will take the pics next week and posted here . Also i will try a car scanner and see if it will show anything when pluged in .

Thanks, I have a plug and use it on my other bikes but I don't know what software to use.

A number of original MZ scanner (FR2000) are just offered at www.muz.de.

Thanks for that but £500 is far too much to spend on a single bike scanner.

Any cheap fault code scanner will read your codes. Mine is a cheap one @ £25 from e-bay and it reads all codes. It also comes with a code book as the codes are general. When I find the bloody handbook I will give you a name.
