Following a biased and flawed moderator choice (someone posting aggressive personal attacks is rewarded, while my technical posts are removed - behind my back & without any justification!), I have withdrawn from this forum.

Hi Puffs.
Well you know how it is ,seen alot of barrels for sale on ebay, but as soon as you want one. My plan is get hold of a nice one and get it rebore, correctly. Interesting what you say about
piston sizes though. My piston is a 69.5mm with a 3 thou gap ( seems like the go to size for rebore engineers)which is 0.0762mm. The gap should be 0.05mm. So I need a piston at
69.5262mm to save me reboring. The search starts for a 69.53mm piston or a barrel. Not gonna pay £185 plus £10 p+p though.

The shop I went to said they dial the rebore to 2 thou. Which is more than I wanted - but I let the engineer do the size he saw fit, and with my own calculations (2 thou is 0.0508, I didn't think it was unreasonable.
