TS250/1 Primary drive cover removal

Postby smellybeard » Sat Jul 03, 2021 12:58 pm

My TS250/1 has been leaking a lot of oil from the gearbox and I've decided to deal with it but I'm going mental trying to get the primary drive cover off.
I have the long screws out, the rev counter drive nut off, the clutch cable and leader out and the gear lever off but the cover only moves out about 4mm.

What have I missed?

Edit: I've done this before to do the kickstart but I can't remember the detail - just that there was a gotcha that time too.

Sorted - gently tap the clutch retraction screw around.

As I suspected, the gearchange shaft o-ring was badly torn.
