Oil leak

Postby Robmzetz » Tue Dec 28, 2021 3:19 am

Hi all. Sorry if this has been asked before. I have an etz 251 with a gear oil leak. It is leaking from the output shaft. My question is can I change the seal by removing the sprocket or is it a more in-depth operation? Thanks in advance.

That's brilliant. Thank you very much. I had visions of major surgery. Hahaha

Ah. I see. I am sourcing a seal but meanwhile I'll have the sprocket off and have a look. Thanks very much.

there is a very thin ring that fits a machined sprocket that makes a fit finish
for your seal to run on// ask the guys at a good bearing shop

heat the ring make sprocket very cold drop it on
