LED brake light bulb for RT125

Postby djsbriscoe » Fri Dec 19, 2008 5:37 pm

Hi,
Does anyone know of an LED brake light bulb that can replace the standard filament one on an RT125? It has to be able to also light up the numberplate and be legal in the UK.
Has anyone come across such a thing?

David.

Hi David,

Have a squint on Ebay. There're several sellers of LED bulbs that have what you want. That's where I got mine - bloody bright they are too! 8)

You can get LED brakelight bulbs in 2 colour flavours - red or white. You want the white variety. They have a ring of LED's set around their periphery (good word, eh? ) that radiate the white light outwards, illuminating the number plate through the rear light lens window.

Hi Linegeist,
I'll have a look on Ebay a little later, I'm just using the standard bulb at the moment.
How's the weather in Anglesey at the moment? I've only been there once, when I cycled all the way from Manchester, staying in youth Hostels along the way.
Beautiful part of the country along with North Wales, lovely countryside, fresh air and fantastic roads. I'd visit north Wales more often if it wasn't such a long way from my present home in London.

Not bad considering. It's a maritime climate so tends to be fairly samey. In winter it's generally grey - in summer it tends to be superb!

Hells teeth! I consider myself hard done by when I have to drive to Manchester in my air conditioned Bora with autocruise. I think cycling it would kill me..........

This is biker country par excellence - especially to run up the mountains into Betws-y-Coed. Outstanding stuff! There are loads of very inexpensive hostelries around this part (Wylfa) and shedloads of real ale outlets.

The only downside is our mad, druidian Chief Constable, who seems to want to return to the days of cars being preceded by a red flag, and motorcycles being permanently welded to caravans to slow them down!

Bob.
