rt kill switch

Postby robert mack » Mon Jul 27, 2009 4:33 pm

right, now i never use the kill switch, but tonight i flicked it by mistake and the bike never cut out.
i tried it a few times but i seems not to be working.
does anyone have any idea why before i strip the controls?

try the bike running
kill button in run position
pull clutch lever in
put bike in gear
put side stand down
does bike die ?
both sidestand and kill switch work with
diode 31 it may be bad (open or shorted ??) it is in wiring harness
exactly where it is i do not know

and have not had time to wire up a test circuit and play to see what it really does
but it does make the green wire at relay 19 do its thing and disrupt power
or relay 19 is sticking ????
it is on the frame near the minus post of battery on an rt
i would clean up the handle bar switch and see that it has a proper ground
before digging elsewhere
