check that the charge lamp is a stock OEM bulb
some systems get upset if not the proper bulb

try placing a small high power magnet on the generator housing and pulling it away quickly
while its running
some times generators will loose there magnetism when setting for a long or even a short time
this may get it going it may not
one of those pickup sticks with a powerful magnet on it may do the job
Dave
clean the place the brushes run against also

Double check the battery condition by putting it on a full charge (if you have a machine to do so). Check voltage of the battery with a volt-metre.

Charge light sometimes comes on if the idle is too low. The idle is best at 1200/1300rpm.

Is the light dim at low speed ? Does it go out at all at the higher rpm speeds?
