helmet lock on left side of bike at or near top font of rear tire also removes seat ..

under seat is a fuse block with 3 fuses

check them the fuse may have just died from old age
and the plugs in the wire harness to the headlamp may not be making good connection

BE CAREFUL THE WIRES ARE GETTING OLD AND MAY BREAK EASY it is a 21 year old bile
do not get fingerprints on the bulb the natural oil on your fingers get on the bulb and when it gets hot
it will blow out even if it is a new one

also the high beam low beam switch on the handle bar my be dirty and need cleaned
the parts are tiny and if lost may ruin the switch
THIS BIKE is old enough that it may have a headlamp off /on switch on the handle bar check it if it does it may need serviced or
may be a relay in there also i need to look at wiring draings
