Hi guys. I have recentley bought a mz ts125 with electrics that look incomplete. The motorcycle runs and rides great but half a mile down the road it cuts out (no spark) then when i recharge it runs again ... i will try attach some photos of under the lhs pannel. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks. Alf. ... i do not know what some of these parts do like the board with what looks like points and the part with 4 brass hooks.

That's the fuse box you have in your hand.

Re-assemble the wiring as best you can using the below link which is a wiring diagramme. It's a pretty good diagramme, in colour too!

ftp://blurredmanswebsite.ddns.net/Vehic ... _TS125.jpg

Then check what voltage your battery is, after a night of rest. Should be around 6.3 really. But anywhere above like 5.9 should be okay. Check it's condition.. Electrolite level? How old is said battery?

That box with the points on is the actual charging regulator which cuts in and out dependant on load and current voltage on bike.

Ok thanks, i will be doing the wiring once i have a haynes of the bike. I have rewired bikes before like bsa bikes but never a mz. Are the meant to be fuses between like brass parts like on a household plug? The battery has not changed it was at 6v and still is at 6v. Since then i took cylinder head off and checked for scoring. The barrel looks really good also i have cleaned the points ect... making me think if it is a faulty plug as well as electrics. Thankyou for replies...

Yes there are supposed to be two 'continental' type fuses in that box.

I have the original TS125 service manual here:

It will be much easier to buy a blade automotive fuse box and fuses from Halfords or any automotive store :) The continental fuses are pretty dire way of a connection.. Even with a seal on them the contacts corrode easily and are only held in the fuse box by the spring action of the holders.. I had them on my bike for a while before I changed them to blade fuses.. They used to give all sorts of problems.

They can fall/bounce out.
They can corrode on the contacts..
Blades are much easier to install and of course the most common type now.

Ok thanks blurredman i will nip into halfrauds and have a look. I have a trade card too so that will save me some money! Do halfords even sell anything 6v? I know bulbs they only have 12 as i have had a look for a bulb for my bsa.

I don't believe they sell anything 6v.

Not that that matters when it comes to the fuse box and fuses..

I use e-bay and bulk buy 6v bulbs (even 12v actually) and normally get a box of 10x 'whatever bulb- 5w, 21w, or bilux 5w/21w) for about £2 for the box! I am inundated now with spare bulbs

What amp fuses should i use? I have bought a blade type fuse box which allows 4 blade fuses. I will have 2 spare places to put fuses if i ever need to in the future. Ive just got to figure out how to mount it as the box is longer than the original

I'm not sure actually,

The manual doesn't say oddly enough! And I don't have a 125cc haynes :(
