1987 250 ETZ front brake hose

Postby arthurf » Sun Jan 06, 2019 4:35 pm

Dear All, I would like a bit more help with my front brake, this time the hydraulic hose and sealing it at the master cylinder.
The front brake on my 1987 is a Grimeca, and the hydraulic fluid is stored in a round container at top.
When I got the bike the hose was short (my bike has slightly raised handlebars), and I had a new hose made up using the old one as a pattern.
Now when I hook up the hose, put fluid in, and bleed the brake I am getting a slight leak where the hose attaches to the master cylinder. Is there a a rubber acorn/ O-ring between the top of the hose and the master cylinder (there was not one when I stripped it down). Also what does one use to seal that joint? (I have tried PTFE tape).
Thanks, Arthur

on some bikes there is a flat brass or copper washer located there
you will know you have found one when its cost is equal to a night on the town

In the master cylinder shown in your other thread I don't think there is any - just metal-to-metal.
