ETZ Silver Paint colour

Postby nice2day » Thu Apr 25, 2019 3:48 am

Does anyone know if there is a recommended car paint colour match to the standard 1988 silver as used on the petrol tank and side covers?. I don't need the RAL code just the name.
There must be a thousand different silvers for cars...
If not, I'll take a guess at VW Reflex Silver...simply because I have some already.

When I sprayed my tank & sides it was too much hassle (& money) for me, but reproductions of the original paints are available in Germany. I just used the rattle can which came closest to the original, as judged by the colour of the side of the air box that was not exposed to sunshine (my metallic blue had bleached considerably in the notoriously harsh Scottish sunshine). + a clear top coat.

at the price of paint you may want to use it up before it goes bad in the can
