Baghira rear light wiring problem

Postby gaz6963 » Sun Aug 25, 2019 3:34 am

Hi all, my first post, loving the forum.
My issue is the rear light.
With the original rear light attached and ignition on and light switch on, the rear light comes on but no brake light.
With an after market rear light fitted, light switch off, I have a brake light but no tail light. With the light switch turned on, I have neither a brake light or tail light.
Any suggestions please? I am not tech minded.

Thanks in advance

leave the tail lamps out of this test
find brake lamp switch use volt meter to see if you have power to one side of
switch or other test this with key off and on

then look at the wires at rear does one have power when break is applied
next most bike and autos loose dash lights if no power to tail lamps
this warns no fuse in the circuit
now take meter and see how lights are wired

i have same issues too.

3 wires. connected no running light, ( to note all dash lights etc working fine)

brake light works when pressed,

when i switch arounnd wires etc the rearlight does come on but very dim, i have checked the light unit direct to battery and it is fine.

ihave played around so much that now the bike has now bloody spark either lol
