removing the cover is OK
it will not save on the mess
this bikes oil change seems the be a mess
its the biggest mess of any bike i have ever owned

Then you'll be doing similar as I with my SP. Place a suitable bowl...

Rotax is Austrian so I'd guess that cover is made there too. But indeed maybe aftermarket - or old stock? Maybe Can-Am also used Rotax?

Quick look says yes, they still do.

In their Spyder they put a 115HP 1330cc Rotax. Also in 2021.

Well that sure ain’t the little 500 single in my bike. Yes Can Am uses the Rotax engines and most of the parts are the same except the bing carburetor and exhaust systems.

give me the 600 ace with cvt and a wood racing flat track frame

and i will build a weapon that will scare people

atkusa 605 esds mid 1990's comes to mind but a bit on the tall side for short people

and if you find a good used one you need a DEEP pocket book

CVT is interesting -
They do look good, not come across a road legal one before.

I don't know the details of their CVT, but it is likely to cost power. I don't mind shifting.

That's a nice looking flat track bike. It isn't, but it reminds me of the CCMs from a while back; didn't they also use that Rotax engine?

Probably the largest user was Harley D and Armstrong for their military bikes.

I have new tires coming Monday and I understand there is a certain way to remove the rear wheel. I get that I remove the left hand axle bolt which is separate from the right side that holds the sprocket side. Exactly what happens next. Remove the spacer and does the brake hub come off with the wheel ? I understand I think the wheel comes off and the drive sprocket stays. Any help or pics would be great. Otherwise I will play it by ear.

hold nut on right side and remove axle on left
it may be o there very tight

remove left spacer brake rod and brake hub then wheel
leaving hub on right and chain in place

the axle is a 2 piece with part of it staying mounted with chain and chain cover

axle is removed out left side

Thanks Dave. Since there are a few people that have asked and no pics , I will try to document the process in photos. It seems Bridgestone has a new tire , the Battleax 41 , that is the correct size and hopefully it won’t rub the rubber chain enclosure. It the outer lugs touch the chain protection, I will just trim them down a little with a side grinder. If I get that far , I am not removing the tire. Lol.

i have reached the point if i take any thing apart it has to be in small pieces

or i have my feet stuck on the ceiling and my face buried in the FLOOR

my get up and go is on strike
