spragg clutch

hi all,ive just done the spragg clutch fix as explained by hmmmnz,just tried to start the bike{battery fully charged} and the engine turns over at about half the speed i would expect,it feels is as if the bike is in gear...it isnt by the way...i then tried to start it with the kickstart and it felt exactly the same,ie felt like it was in gear.i took of the engine covers to expose the crank/starter motor gear and turned the engine over by hand using the kickstart lever.... the gear that the starter motor engages with was spinning as the engine was turned over...surely that isnt right,in the repair manual it mentions a free wheel gear,ive just checked it and it isnt free,i assumed it was moving when i stripped the engine because the spragg clutch spring was damaged,obviously ive done something wrong but im not sure what,any help much appreciated
