Bing idle mix adjustment

Postby 95SaxonTour » Fri Mar 01, 2013 11:19 am

Anyone know the correct setting for the idle mix screw on the Bing carb? This is the adjuster closest to the rubber intake right below the carb throat.

How many turns out from fully turned in should I have?

Thanks
Ryan

bmw r75/5 book says .5 to 1 turn almost same carb

my bike was set a .75 turn out thats a good place to start
its a saxon tour
this motor should idle faster than most singles as its a short stroke motor
i would play with mix at about 1200 to 1400 rpm
its been 2007 since i had mine running
some one tell us the proper idle rpm
and is not real slow
i have a bing book i am looking for it

My Silver Star owner's manual says:
Mixture screw: approx. 3/4 open
Idle speed: approx. 1100 rpm
