MZ/MuZ Riders

Members: Can the ignition key be replaced at a neighborhood locksmith store. Or do I need to contact a dedicated MZ vendor. Are there other brands of motorcycles that use the same key blank. Also is the Rotax engine a Type 348, if not what is its designation?

keys are zada
lots of bikes use it

and i can not get the search to work

and rotax is 504e on mz bikes
i have a 1995 saxon tour with that engine

always shut off your rotax with the compression release
then shut off the key saves the starter sprag clutch

had a hard time finding this the search on the mz riders is not finding older posts
there there search just does not see them
and the computer i have a bunch of this stuff stored on died the other day
but i can hear the hard drive still running so there is hope for data recovery

some buell blanks are same
if you know the cut number grahams in uk may be able to get you one
or blanks but get a pro locksmith to cut the new ones take key and blanks and the bike
i had a fit getting some new ones for the saxon tour cut guy had to take the lock apart

Mz Key Blank Interchange

Did a little additional research on the key thing (hope this is the last post on it). Here's an interchange on the different bikes that use the same key as the Baghira/Mastiff. You can either source a key blank through a brand dealership or use the Ilco blank #X270-TCM1 via this list. This is just for information I got off the Ilco website. Paul
