Silver Star gearing.

I am going to replace my 18T engine sprocket with either a 16T or 15T. I know the 16T is a popular mod and I am leaning toward it, just wondering if anyone has tried the 15T sprocket and what the results were.
Thanks,
Brad

Good info. I will just go with the 16T.

Turns out my silver star has a 17T sprocket just like my owners manual said. It should, so now I am back to wondering if a 16T will give me the acceleration I am looking for. Maybe it won't rain tomorrow and I can tell a lil
Bit about the powerband now that my tach is working.

I put a 16t on my Silver Star and it made a big improvement over the 17t. I could go uphill into a headwind without losing speed even at full throttle. Acceleration was improved, gas mileage virtually unchanged. Revving a bit higher at highway speeds, but not by much.

Rear tire size will have an effect as well. The stock 110/80-18 size isn't widely available, so I used a 110/90-18. Taller sidewalls/larger circumference made the effective gearing a bit taller.

I was referring to a 16 Tooth Sprocket. I will be fitting some Bridgestone BT45s in 90/90-18 and 110/80-18.
