One last thing while it's on my mind, the intake path in stock form leaves quite a bit to be desired. I recommend buying or fabricating a spacer plate between the carbs and head, and matching the ports. There is a hard angle behind the larger port on the right that can be radiused very nicely with the additional thickness of a spacer plate, and the plate is supposed to give you a little more torque since it lengthens the intake. It also doubles as a template to make the matching easier. Cheap and easy horsepower gain in my opinion. First pic is my work before sending head off for complete professional service. Second is after the pro was done tweaking the rest of the ports and putting oversized stainless valves in.
