New gearing, cush drive and tyres

Postby breakwellmz » Sun Feb 07, 2021 3:18 pm

Hi anyone.

First proper ride today on the Mastiff after fitting new cush drive rubbers, 41 tooth (from 43) rear sprocket, and new tyres.
I still love this bike!
Oh happy days!! :D

Cheers.

Hi, yes: jealous... I wouldn't mind having such a 660. I remember your earlier pics.
Here it's all white again, except for the roads sprayed with salt.

Hi.
Getting out on any sort of two wheels would have been as good, the bonus was that all the stuff i did to the bike was beneficial. :D
Here`s one for you.... If the air temperature is +1 degree C, what temperature am i seeing at 60mph (say 100Km/h)
We`re expecting snow here but I`m sure it won`t be much as we are pretty south here in Bath, Somerset.
Cheers.

Following a biased and flawed moderator choice (someone posting aggressive personal attacks is rewarded, while my technical posts are removed - behind my back & without any justification!), I have withdrawn from this forum.

I found a wind factor calculator online and the answer was -9 degrees C which is not as low as i thought it would be.

Even more surprising 80mph is only one degree more wind chill. Maybe next time?

A good argument for going faster on cold days to get in to the warm sooner then.

Ah, one reason why big proper fairings (not the 'speed oriented type') can make one's life so much more comfortable...

Or, the goal would be to go even faster still. If you go fast enough, the friction heats you up, just like a falling star.

Will not work with an air-cooled engine. I tried it with the 251, didn't work.

Anything that shields you from cold wind, rain & snow will make things more comfy. That's also the idea behind scooters, and it might lead to the car. It's a choice.
