Black Panther rear axle thread pitch

Postby m4panther » Fri Jun 18, 2021 5:39 pm

Hey gang,

Hopefully this is an easy answer.
I need new rear axle nuts and clean the threads on the axle. Does anyone know the thread pitch?

Thanks in advance

Funny thing about that thread file. I acquired it through a workplace tool purge. I've owned it for probably 12 years and never used it.

I ordered the die off Amazon for $10 because I can't hand tighten the nut to its locking threads on that side.

My local motorcycle store parts counter kid went out of his way rummaging through parts to find me nuts that fit into the chain adjustment spacers. Apparently they can only look up parts by bike model. Their system doesn't have any descriptions In the system. Only generic like "nut" "bolt" nothing to cross reference.
It's a real nice Honda part (only had 1). Uses spring steel lock washer at the end instead of nylon.
If they work out I'll post a pic with the part number. It only extends about 3/8" past the spacer... praying that's enough socket contact to make ther 85ftLb torque spec.
