Baghira-Fuel Tank and Shrouds--Remove ?

Postby Callumjack » Sun Jul 24, 2022 4:40 am

Hi all--new here in the UK--just picked up a 2001 Baghira--attracted by the obscureness and quality aspects of them..so hope it all goes well!

One thing that intrigues me are the strange fuel tank shrouds that wrap round the forks and connect onto the headlight protection bars....what does the tank look like when these are removed..anyone got any photos ?

Or should i learn to love them ?

Thanks
Callumjack

IMO you should learn to love them; during riding they help catching wind & channel that through the radiators, particularly if that is deflected by a high mudguard. So they enhance cooling. Many water-cooled bikes have shrouds like that, or similar wind guides.

The need for them will depend on use & climate, but I'd say it is part of the technical design.

Still have the shrouds on mine, I like the as help to hide the radiator but removed the scaffolding from the headlight.
Just started a change to Acerbis Cyclope headlight and Snell speedo.
