a dealer near me?

Postby badapple » Tue May 18, 2004 8:52 pm

I live in western nebraska and I am looking for a black panther? I would like to find one used because I don't wish to spend 6000 dollars on a bike right now. The only think I can find out here are a few ktm lc 4 How do they compare to the MZ? I like the supermoto styling but no know seems to carry them here in the mid west. I'm near the WYOMING, COLORADO, KANSAS, AND SOUTH DAKOTA borders does anyone know of a dealer around here? Does anyone know of someone with a used mz period. any help would be great. gas prices are killing me, I need a bike to comute to work before they get even worse($2.10 a gallon here) :(

Don't forget we lost another KTM LC4 plated bike (on the other site).... its a race before 10 thousand miles to whether they blow up or the person sells them because the maintenance and problems piss them off and they sell out..... buy the MZ.... be patient the used ones crop up once in awhile... they really are a great bike.... 8) with alittle modifying they actually are quite quick....

Hi. Just like that last person, I also bought from Joe at Throttle-Up. B/c I also live in Florida( he's in the West Palm area), he shipped mine for $75. He can also get parts, etc. These bikes are brand new in crate for $4400. That's a steal. I got mine last thursday and absolutely love it. I am sure he will sell you one, if he has any left. I can also vouch for him. I am waiting for him to send me all the paperwork so I can get a tag for this bike. 2 year warranty applies. He also sells on eBay. Search for "Baghira" or "MZ" and see if he has it on eBay. Awesome guy. I kept calling him when I first got it, etc and he's awesome. he also helps after the sale. Hope that helps. No reason to pay retail for these bikes and when you compare them to Honda or Kawasaki, the $4400 he charges is a steal. This bike is so awesome, I don't even know where to begin with the kudos.

colorado jeep dealer ?????

Postby badapple » Thu May 20, 2004 8:20 am

A colorado jeep deal has 2 2003 panthers with about 10 miles but he is asking 7 grand - what happened to that affordable price tag? Is he crazy or is that what these newer bikes are selling for? I think I will try Florida and have them ship it to nebraska!

Here is a little clarity for ya.... MZ makes three models
Baghira Black Panther
Baghira Street Moto
Baghira Enduro

The Enduro is a dirt bike, tires wheels 21" front and 18" rear, smaller brakes etc To bring it up to a Street Moto/Panther you would have to pay approx 1500.00 to 2000.00
best to buy the panther or moto up front....
There are two ride heights Standard and lowered the enduro is standard my Baggy is standard Phlats is the lowered...Something Phlat found out the other day is that the steering geometry is different between the two models....(standard has way longer forks that are adjustable) (longer travel at the back too) same wheelbase but the standards have a more vertical rake than the lowered models

7K???

Postby sbaschn » Thu May 20, 2004 10:38 pm

Well, Brian has a point. Dude, if you want a nice dual purpose bike, get the one from Florida, for $4400. MZ does make 3 models, slightly different, I suppose. If you're looking for a street bike, forget the MZ. I would shell out $7000 and get a Buell. I mean, Black Panther, Super Moto, what ever, they look the same to me just different tires. I don't know what updates Brian may be talking about to cost $1500-2000, but doesn't seem worth it to me, bigger brakes or not. If you are looking for a kick ass dirt bike that you can also ride on the street, then look no further, the Enduro version is the one for you (which is the one that guy in Florida sold me). If you want a street bike, there's no way in Hell I would shell out that kind of cash for an MZ that will still look like a dirt bike but with street tires. For that kind of cash, I would buy a Harley, I mean come on. I have driven through Nebraska and I would love to have my bike there. All that open space, all the trails, wow! Florida sucks for riding, nothing but beach sand. Good luck in your search. From my limited experience, nothing looks like an MZ. I finally got on that throttle in the dirt today, holy cow is all I can say about that. I about got thrown off the bike. What power. The weight of it made it stick like glue in the sand. I was killing shrubs left and right. I absolutely love this bike and the price I paid for a brand new one can't be beat. Good luck. I would be tearing up the corn fields right now!

WOW.

I bought my MZ as A street bike, and thats what is is to me. I ride an RM125 off road because the MZ would not be nearly fast enough for my tastes in the woods. The most pleasurable thing on a Baggy is handing some "sport bike" his ass on a tight road!!!

and they back in sooo perdy....

Hey Phlat, will have to get a tripod for the next picts, slides and wheelies.... my tripod folds down into my pack !!!!!

Phlat and I bought our MZ's for $ 5500.00 new....

The 1500.00 to 2000.00 upgrades to make it from a enduro to a SM is
Behr 17" rims, Pirrelli MT 60 tires (Dual tire) or Diablos (street only tire), larger front rotor and caliper and resevoir
and a couple other minor things I can't think of....
My point is this.... IF you want to ride the baggy on the road and also do some fire road stuff spend a grand more and get the Panther or Street Moto....... (rather than hassle with buying rims, tires etc etc )
I have yet to find a bike that can keep up with a Baggy in the twisties below 50 mph....period

So he is trying to sell you a 2003 bike that "listed" for $ 6195.00
(he has had this bike for over a year fo sho and got it at his old cost)
Now the 660's have gone to a new list price and he is trying to capitalize on the increase)
Tell him you'll give him $ 5500.00 plus tax
If you are serious PM me and I will make a call to my dealer and get you a 2004 for $ 5500.00 to $ 6000.00 ???
look on the internet
