Frame filter pipe

Postby breakwellmz » Fri Feb 16, 2024 6:51 am

I removed my frame gauze filter for the first time since owning the bike and was surprised to see this.
The flexi part (Apparently) pulled away from the solid pipe. I`ve never seen oil on the floor but the chrome looks suspiciously bright for a twenty year old bike!

Was the pipe covered in oil? I'll have a look at my Tour tomorrow but my old Sport wasn't that clean! Must admit I got into the habit of cleaning the filter there regularly.

Hi.
No oil on it at all, just suspiciously shiny as I said.
Considering I had not removed it before (Had the bike from new) there was not one spec of debris on the gauze, I won`t bother in future!
It went back without me doing anything to it, but I`ll certainly keep an eye on it.
Cheers.
