hi phlat!

do a search under MZ fork brace and you might be able to locate a link to a thread from ThumperTalk (IIRC) where fork braces are discussed in detail. IIRC the end result was 'don't do it unless you can guarantee the forks won't bind'.

There are some neat pictures on the thread of several Magni modded bikes ... Magni has the best fork brace design I have evr seen but it'd be hard to replicate.

I've tried braces on other bikes and they tend to be a PITA. Not worth the effort except on a race bike (and then it's a maybe).

'Sides, it looks to me like you don't need one to go fast!

I asked him about making some of those but he said he had a small machine shop and it would be too expensive.

Another bike project lined up for me, I just purchased this skid plate on Ebay for a Husky for $20 plus shipping. It looks like it can be adapted to fit the Baggy.

Randew2U!

So how's that fairing and handguard project coming??? Or are you just stockpiling pieces? :D ;-) :smt079

I got my Woods-width Pro Tapers last night... they should be on in a couple days. Waiting for some fancy handguards I also ordered. :smt040

I typically buy a bunch of stuff and the go ape on the projects, lets me keep me moving between trips to the hardware store. It's getting cole out here and I dont have a garage, so most will probably wait until spring.

Dang, that is such a good idea! Maybe I will bring the bike in the living room of the bat cave for the winter. I have to put a lally column in the basement though, crappy 100 year old house thing going on here. I can nock off my projects over the winter then. Thanks

Good point on the gas tank. I'd like to empty it and also empty out the carbs. Can I have trouble with rubber parts if I dry it out for the winter? Anyone have baggy in the den for the winter experience?

IndyMirrors

Postby hulagun » Sat Oct 16, 2004 1:03 pm

I checked out Motrax and that LED tailight is sweet. Looks like the same one sold here by Baja Designs. Motrax also have another more expensive LED taillight that is very cool. You guys in Europe sure get some neat parts!

I saw these mirrors on the Motrax site... might be good for street supermoto use. Maybe a good solution if you want to put accessory driving lamps where the standard Baghira signals (indicators) are, or for those who want to change headlight (fairing) out entirely.

Motorcycle stand for Baggy?

Postby Randew2U » Sun Oct 17, 2004 8:33 pm

Does anyone know of a good center type stand for a baggy that will distribute the weight out holding the bike very stable and perhaps let the bike rock back and forth. If im putting it im my living room for the winter, I want to be able to entertain lady friends on it. Dang, maybe I need to get a cross bar pad for the handlebars after all.

Phlat,
No, not an oil cooler, that's my new, improved toolbox, the first design didn't work out. I'll post a better picture soon. The racks are Touratech. You ought to get a set of crashbars like mine. It's just a matter of time and you will lay it down and wipeout the water pump.....<g>.

I have crashed my bike twice, the sliders and hand guards did their jobs!

modified my seat for comfort yesterday, I removed the cover, and shaped a seat pocket with a flat seating pad in the stock foam, and re-attached the cover. much improved, still not all day comfort, but could barely do 50 miles before without loosing all feelling in the rear end.
