Hello fellow mz riders, I know I may be on the wrong page for this, but if someone knows which trail tech digital speedometer kit works best for the 01 baghira I would appreciate the input, all I can find are kits for more popular bikes like Honda or ktm, I was thinking maybe the kit for the raptor 660 might be compatible, but I came here to get some further input. Again, sorry if I'm in the wrong place for this question.

hi,any trailtech will do as mounting it needs a bit of creativity, think i did buy the raptor one though, and you will need the rpm resistor wire to smooth out the rev range which i think comes with the raptor specific one.

I appreciate the reply, sorry for the late reply, bought the kit for a crf and have ran into some difficulties installing it, blinkers will not work with headlight plugged in, bike will not start without jumping neutral switch. I imagine fans will not kick in seeing as how the water temp sensing circuit also goes through the factory Speedo.

Any input from anyone who can help would be appreciated.

i fitted temp sensor on left hand side of cylinder head, cut into water hose, near fan switch i think.new speedo should have no effect on neutral switch, headlight, indicators etc whatsoever, seem to recall using oe wire for temp warning light to power seperate led to show when fan runs, bike was only a few weeks old from new at the time,to make sure all was good and when happy removed led and insulated wire as not used anymore.
if i get time will post a pic or two

Alright, so I got this thing working it seems, turned out to be that my neutral safety sensor had decided to go out randomly. Replaced it and now works fine, I'm at the stage where I need to set up all the information for the Speedo to work.

Now I need to know :

High temp warning point
Over temp danger point.
Rpm shift points (this is a completely stock 2001 mz baghira)
Over shift indicator warning points.

If y'all could help me out this last time, I will post some naughty pics of my bike for you haha. You won't be disappointed, she's beautiful.

Those are tough to answer definitively. I don't think I've ever seen any recommended shift points for a Baggie or Mastiff in any publication, whether from MZ or otherwise. You might have to just do some experimenting and come up with your own.

As for the over shift point, the manual says that the rev limiter is at 7,000 rpm, so you can use that as a guide.

On the coolant temps, I believe that the fan switch (at least on my 2005 Baggie) causes the fans to kick on between 186-201 degrees F, so you might use that as a guide as well, at least for the high temp warning point. Who knows what the danger point would be.

Not a lot of help, but I don't think there's much out there.

search my profile/posts and you will find vapor settings topic, settings work fine for me though overtemp reading i think is just below fan switch on point.fan comes on then temp starts to drop.
