Dear all,

My first post as fresh rider of a Skorpion.
I am looking for some tips to upgrade the front disk with a new one and the exhaust system for some extra ground clearance and more power, any suggestions?

Cheers, Ron

Hi.

Can't help with the disc or exhaust, but for more power to your front brake I recommend Goldfren GP5 brake pads.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Goldfren-Race ... Sw3YNXYWcS

These pads are not aggressive on the disc, they do produce more dust, but that is a small price to pay for the transformation in braking.

Goldfren S33 for the rear.

DO NOT confuse these with with standard Goldfren AD pads.

I don't know of anyone selling aftermarket discs or new discs for the Skorp unless Graham's has some in stock, but you are going to pay out the rear for it. Better to buy a used one that still has enough thickness to be refurbished, then buy a Brembo pump. My bike will do endos with a Brembo master cylinder for a scooter and stock disc/caliper with regular EBC pads. There's plenty of power to be had in the OEM setup with a better pump.

As for the exhaust, I haven't checked ground clearances on my aftermarket stuff. Never have layed it over far enough to touch the ground though. I'm running the Projection Components header and mid pipe with Pro Circuit silencer.

I should probably add that focusing on your exhaust first as a path towards more power is the least effective route. There are easier, more effective and cheaper ways to get more power.

Hi,
Your location would help in giving advice.
A front disc for the Skorpion is listed on the WEMOTO site in the UK.

http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/mz_-_muz/sk ... cup/94-03/

It's also been suggested on this site in the past that a Honda NSR125 front disc will fit, would need to check model.

As for ground clearance MZ used to sell shorter rear suspension links, I had these on my Traveller and found I could then corner without my feet dragging on the road.

The front disc on my Skorp comes from a Honda nsr125 Foxeye - just check it 'floats' as some Foxeyes had a solid disc. My caliper is off a Duke 600 Monster and the master cylinder is just a Brembo that fits. Pads, um, no idea.

Works a treat.

my ebc book shows above number and a note on my hard drive confirms it in 2010

as mz is the only thing it fits
