I'll answer my own question. It will work. I used my pocket knife to cut the old filter from the plastic surround. Cleaned up the old glue and inserted the KTM filter into the framework. It fits a little tighter into the front of the airbox and it isn't necessary to use the screw, the filter won't fall out. $24 USD at the local KTM shop. It's a better filter too.

Just did the same with a K&N filter for the KTM 390 a few weeks ago.

Muck easer then the universal filter foam I had been using the last 15 years since the MZ filter became unavailable is the US.

BTW - not Replica specific - will work on any of the Skorpion line (Tour, Traveler, Sport. Sport Cup. Replica)

Thanks for the info on the OE filter and the fact it fits all of the models. When I took the original filter out, there was very little dirt and bugs in it. I tried blowing air from the airbox side out and then the other way and found that it did not pass a lot of air. The new paper filter was much less restrictive than the OE filter. I think this was original to the bike so it may have plugged up due to whatever conditions other than dirt. For me, I think I'd rather have the paper even though not original.
