Baghira newbie...

Well done with the stanchions, very good price, I am in need of a couple for one of my bikes at the moment, but they are no longer available, and I have been checking ebay for about 6 months and nothing as yet.
I normally helicoil my own threads if they are stripped or snapped, and the fork pinch bolts are very common for stripping or snapping.

If youre stanchions aren't bent you might be better off to get them re-chromed,you could also try any motocross breakers for 45mm KTM forks,a long shot but you never know,i did have info on which year & models of KTM's had 45mm Magnum forks but i've mislaid it

I've dabbled with helicoiling before but prefer to get it done by somebody in a workshop with proper equipment,i've also drilled out sheared bolts a few times in the past & i've a feeling i'll be doing quite a few more with this rebuild!

Yes, I can get them re chromed, I have had quite a few sets of stanchions chromed before and I am lucky there is a place about 8 miles away that specialises in hard chrome plating and grinding, but I would prefer to have a new set of stanchions or replacement forks, if I could find them. Your right about the KTM's, all of the models in the late 90's had Marzocchi Magnums either 45mm or 50mm, and Husqvarna used them, but the lowers are different on Husky bikes, and various other manufacturers have used them around the same time, even T M Racing hand built moto x and enduro bikes used both sizes in some of their machines, although they did offer options of 2 other types of forks at the time.

A mate of mine has broken a Baghira,i've scored quite a few bits off it but i think the forks are a bit shabby,i'll check them out next time i'm through & get back to you,he's got my bottom yoke to try & extract sheared mudguard bolts.

That would be good, if they are reasonable then I would be interested in them, in fact I do buy Baghira and Mastiff bits, so if he has anything else for sale then I may be interested.

I'm nearly at the end of my Baghira project, thank God. MoT ready now, but I'm off on holiday for a bit, so won't be done before the end of November.

I've got a long way to go before mine will be ready for an MOT,nut,bolt & washer rebuild,just done the rear shock,stripped,cleaned,polished,fresh paint...next job is prepping the rear wheel,swinging arm & a few other bits for the powder coaters,i've been waiting for ages for a local coater to do a sample for me,got the sample today...long story.....a very close friend of mine had started coating parts for my Baggy but sadly was diagnosed with cancer in 2016 & 2 months later,December 24th, he passed away,i spent every single day with him from diagnosis to the end,it was absolutely horrendous!,he'd been powder coating from home for a few years & had people flocking to him for it,a seriously talented guy,i had the unenviable task of helping his family deal with his bikes & tools etc & he had masses of boxes of different coloured powders,i had to try & find the grey he'd done my fork legs with so i could get the swinging arm & linkage done the same colour just as he was going to do,there was 3 different greys,one of which was 'german grey',german bike...german grey...i knew how my mate thought,it made sense,it looked right & it turns out i was right,the sample matched so it's time to get the swinging arm done...,i've only recently been able to start working on the Baggy again because of what happened to my friend,he'd coated the front wheel & fork legs & every time i looked at them it messed with my head,anyway,back on track now & getting stuck into it.
