I saw someone mention that they bought something from some UK people, I'm just about to buy the SM125 and wondered if you guys knew of any good tuning parts or people over here or at least in Europe? Many thanks

Well... I've placed my order through PowRoll for the SuperTrapp IDS2 system. Hopefully it will be here sometime next week.

IDS2 here and installed....

Postby witttom » Wed Jun 01, 2005 8:38 am

Ok, so I installed my new SuperTrapp IDS2 on the 125SM last night. Took longer than expected, but thats a different story.

Anyway... I fired it up this morning (was too scared to start it last night at 11pm) and rode it to work. Of the 12 discs that came with it, I used 8. It is loud. Possibly obnoxiously loud, but I don't think it sounds bad nor does it snap, crackle, pop like I had feared. I gained a little bit of mid-range torque, but I do not believe I gained ANY top end HP (which is what I really need). I have not done any jetting and prefer not to get into that yet if I don't have to. I do not want to add anymore discs, but in order to gain more top end power (and sacrifice mid-range torque), this is what I would need to do, right?

Has anyone else installed the IDS2 from PowRoll? How many discs did you use?

I'm probably starving for gas in the upper RPMs and will be forced to go with a bigger main jet, but wasn't really expecting to get into that (yet).

Though i'm not using the IDS2,i'm using the conventional disc type...
i would recommend rejetting to gain power...you should make the best of it :-D

I'm only using 4 discs!!....but maybe that's just me...i like my bottom end power... :P

hope this helps!

Where do I get larger jets?

Fortunately, I seem to have at least gained a little low/mid-range (especially glad I haven't LOST any), but with 8 discs in, I would have expected at least some top end gain.

here in Malaysia it's a cince to find...
it think any normal workshop would have the jets...it's the normal mikuni main jet with the long nail-like pilot jet...i'd only encountered problem finding the pilot jet....but it can be found...
alternatively you can try buying it from the web...but i have no experience here  :P

i think we'll have to see how it goes from here...
