motor starts then dies.....

Postby jacquesvins » Sat Oct 26, 2013 12:47 pm

Hi,

Had my 125 TS starting, running for a minute or so and then dying with no chance of a restart....
Only if plug removed, spark checked, plug dipped in petrol does it sometimes start, but then dies again - so frustrating....
Does anyone know what could be the cause, any ideas would be most welcome,

Cheers

Jacques.

First thing to check is that the hole in the petrol cap isn't blocked. If it is you get a partial vacuum in the tank which stops the bike. Then while you are trying to work out why air bleeds in and off you go again

Also try a new plug... always seems to work wonders on an MZ

Wow you really know your stuff..... yes the little breather hole was blocked and made the fuel run down to the carb just too slowly...... the plug was a new one, so I knew it was not that - thanks so much for your brilliant advice...... I was just about to give up...... cheers, Jacques.
