Hi and good day, has any one fitted a Dellorto Carburettor to the above please as the old original one is getting tired and looking for alternative to the Mikuni conversion?

Hi MZFred, what model do you think of, and what would you hope to gain by using a Dell'Orto?
Just wondering. If the carb body is worn, replacing it makes sense, but I'm not sure there is much to be gained by using another brand of carb. Or is there?

(I used Dell'Orto carbs in the past, though not on an MZ; they are good quality IMO.)

Thanks for your comment Puffs, like many in the uk with bikes that have done good mileage the original carbs are getting worn out and good original one are hard to find. The most common replacement are Mikuni and these are available but at a premium price, however new Delorto carburetors are ready available at a good price and used by many in the scooter world on their 2 stroke singles, therefore my original question.

Haven't seen many. But there is no reason it wouldn't work well. Dellorto makes great carbs. I'd say its a good alternative.
Any modern carb should outperform the original. But differences beetwen brands likely won't be noticable. As with any carb conversion, there is no formula, a set of pilot, main jets and a lot of trial and error is neccesary.

I've installed a PWK clone on my TS if you want more details.

Pretty happy with it. The surging Puffs mentioned, is not much of an issue, atleast on my bike.
