Easy there! 13ft pound is the torque you are aiming at! (17.6Nm) Hope you've got a few new studs. Where did you get 30 from?

I guessed as much. Unfortunately Haynes manuals tend to get referred to as "Haynes Little Book of Lies" I have found picture sequences that don't coincide with the text, wrong torque settings, left hand threads labelled as right hand threads, the list goes on. The UK MZ club does reprints of the original manuals and I wouldn't be without them, and I think they also do a DVD with the manuals on.

If anyone else is interested in an English language (Zschopau English), genuine copy of an MZ manual this is the place:
http://www.mzridersclub.com/html/mz_regalia_shop.html
Postage to the U.S. you will have to ask them about. They also sell Parts Lists and DVD versions.
You don't have to belong to their club.
The alternative is to learn German or just talk about riding MZs!

The only problem is that as far as I know they only accept payment by cheque, and cheques from overseas incur horrible fees in UK banks. However if anyone wants anything I am quite happy to buy manuals and send them at cost and take payment through paypal

You're a helluva hand!
I guess PayPal is Canadian (part of Hudson's Bay/e-bay).

Much tho I hate paying Fleabay and its offshoots any more money than I have to payPal the easiest way to send money internationally that i know. I end up getting a load of stuff off German eBay and unfortunately most germans prefer bank transfer, which costs me a fortune in fees!
