Some queries re my ES250

Postby Dzundzun » Wed May 09, 2012 2:12 pm

The bike is now up and dzun dzunning away but ...

1. The charging light seems to light up at higher revs and switch off
at lower revs or if the engine stalls. Don't think my old TS250 did
that and it's the other way round on most bikes / cars. Is this a
peculiarity of the ES or do I have a duff charging system or incorrect
wiring? The lead from the light goes straight to the correct point on
the voltage regulator as far as I can see.

2. I have a flooding carb. OK, I'm used to that from airhead BMWs so
will take the float bowl off and check the float, needle seating etc.
(Not as easy as on the BMs though!). Is there anything that's common
on the BVF carb as a cause of flooding?

3. The neutral light (the other light in the speedo?) does not
illuminate. The lead from the speedo connects to a lead which
disappears into the back of the generator cover. Anything obvious I
need to check?
