Hi,
Enquiry on behalf of person selling some MZ's.
This is an MZ ETZ 300 but the head shape looks different, it has vertical fins, is it the correct head for a 1988 MZ ETZ 300?
The bike is running fine and has been like that for years.
Thanks

Yes the vertical finned part is only an added extra top to the original flat head, this was fitted by the importer Wilf Green to differentiate it from a 250, it can be removed easily.

But the model in the front (ETZ 250)was never produced with 300ccm.
Only the model in the back (ETZ 251/301).
So it is not original.

Hi
The ETZ300 was the UK MZ importer Wilf Green's model, not an official MZ model.

It is an over bored ETZ250 fitted with a Mahle piston, all 4 I have had dealings with had a wide squish band and pulled like a steam engine, though were reluctant to rev out.

Setting the squish clearance to 0.9-1.0 mm makes them as peaky as the ETZ250 but far quicker.
